Community declares war on cultists, armed robbers, kidnappers

Egbu autonomous community in Owerri North local council area of Imo State, has declared total war on criminals operating in the area.

The people have also warned that henceforth, any indigene or settler, found to be involved in criminal activities, would face commensurate sanction.  Reading the riot act in the royal father’s palace, the President General, PG, of the community, Sir Simon Nkwazema, also said that they have decided not to watch helplessly while the town is overrun by cultists, armed robbers or kidnappers.  “It is a matter of regret that our peaceful community has suddenly turned into a den of cultists, robbers and rapists. Egbu Town General Assembly will go to war with any person who disturbs the peace of the community”,  Nkwazema said.  While saying that the community has mapped out strategies to fight crime and criminals in the area, the PG however pointed out that parents and guardians had a lot of role to play in the current crusade against hoodlums.  He commended the State Police Command for the gallantry of its personnel in recent time and urged them not to relent in the fight against hoodlums.
